High Speed Two Limited (HS2 Ltd) has confirmed this week that the A38 at Streethay in Lichfield is set to close during the Easter holiday period.
The closure will take place on the Northbound and Southbound carriageways simultaneously for 11 days; from 27 March to approx. 8 April.
The works is to complete the realignment of the main A38 carriageway. HS2 will remove the current road layout and switch vehicles over to a newly re-aligned carriageway.
To carry out these works safely and to protect the workforce and road users, HS2 will close the A38 in BOTH directions from the Swinfen Interchange to Hilliard’s Cross (Fradley South).
During this time, there will also be a closure to the northbound slip road at Streethay. This is necessary to integrate the slip road into the new alignment.
Diversions will be in place and signposted.
More information on this closure can be found on the HS2 website: https://www.hs2.org.uk
